Important Update: New U.S. Import Tariff and Our Refund Policy

As the majority of our clients are located in the United States, we want to provide you with a clear explanation of how the recently announced U.S. import tariff will affect your purchases from Mr and Mrs Vintage Typewriters, and the steps we are taking to support you.
On April 2, 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a new trade policy during his "Liberation Day" speech, introducing a minimum 10% tariff on all goods imported into the United States, including those from the UK which is 10% which is the minimum compared to other countries in Europe that is 20%.
This tariff will take effect at midnight on April 5, 2025, and will apply to shipments entering the U.S., including our daily deliveries to customers across all states and cities.
Will the Tariff Affect Your Purchase?
Yes, if your order is processed by a courier in the U.S., you may be required to pay the tariff upon delivery. However, to ensure your continued satisfaction and in appreciation of our long-standing relationship with our U.S. customers, we are implementing the following Tariff refund policy:
Our Commitment to You: Tariff Refund Policy
For any U.S. tariffs exceeding $25 paid on orders placed through our website, we will refund the amount above $25.
For example, if you are charged a $40 tariff, we will reimburse you $15 to your original payment method.
How to Request a Refund:
- If you are charged a tariff in the U.S., please email us with your refund request.
- Attach a copy of the courier’s invoice showing the tariff amount paid.
- Upon verification of the documents, we will process your refund within 48 hours of receiving your email.
Policy Details:
- This applies only to U.S. tariffs and does not cover additional fees or charges (if any).
- Eligible orders must be completed on our website and shipped to U.S. addresses after April 2, 2025.
