1911 Underwood 5 Typewriter - New platen

This typewriter was part of our personal typewriter collection and we kept for a while for two main reasons, early serial and looked so close in design to the Underwood Model 1 that has similar levers with small changes. 

Made in 1911 with Serial 53054. 

Mechanical condition:

Professionally restored to working order.

surprisingly Smooth and ready to type for long hours. 

I put a lot of hours to restore all parts and specially the key slugs. plus, I nearly cleaned all key legends keeping original one to keep some authenticity. 

all Decals are original. 

New & fresh Black  Ribbon Fitted on Original metal Spools. 

New platen fitted. 

Tab option is adjusted and working. 

One minor thing to not that the lever that frees the platen from the left tends to be engaged when rolling sometimes, in one direction, does not affect using it, just needs to be mentioned, 

Cosmetic condition:

Like all our typewriters, it was genuinely restored & serviced.

All cleaned keys. 

Original Wooden base and metal lid that clips on four sides. Main lock missing. 

the typewriter can be secured on base but the screws are missing. will try to locate ones.
