British Empire Service Model Typewriter
We have run out of stock for this item.
The British Empire "Service Model" Typewriter
Light Weight & Stripped out version of these portable machines.
There is nearly no information on this machine as we personally did not see any of it ever and it was so distinguished in our very wide collection of Empire Typewriters & Hermes Baby Typewriters.
Serial from 51XXX and no clear dates for this model.. which makes it another mystery.
What makes it Special?
The Typewriter, and while cleaning, we noticed that all the main body is made of Black Metal and not Silver Coloured metal.
Every thing about it, other than the keys is not shinny and surely made for usage in war. The concept is Similar to the German machines used in the War that had no Chrome and all were replaced with black or dark pieces so it doesn't reflect the light in the dark.
The case, the locks, and even the leather handle are all in Dark when on other models that are Brown and Chromed.
What we love about it is the Red Back Space.
