After our repair of the Perkins Braille writing machine on the award winning show, The Repair Shop on BBC, we decided to add a new line on our website and supply restored and serviced Perkins braillers for sale. 

The Perkins brailler was designed by David Abraham, manufactured and distributed back in the days by HOWE Memorial Press - Perkins School for the blind. 

The Perkins brailler is serviced and fully dismantled for a deep clean to make sure its perfectly operating. 

  • The brailler is metal with an enamel finish in grey.
  • Standard braille cell size: dot to dot 0.22cm, cell spacing 0.61cm.
  • Paper size maximum: 29.2 × 35.6cm (11.5 × 14  inches).
  • Takes heavy weight paper from 140GSM up to 250GSM. 
  • Adjustable audible margin to indicate end of line. 
  • Weight: 4.8kg (10.6lb) without the carrying case.
  • Original carrying case included ( restored with new felt)

Remarks: 

1- Left case lock occasionally sticks

2- Case has old smell although it was deeply cleaned.
