Schmitt Express Bakelite Portable Typewriter

Its a non common typewriter as there are only 3000 made of these and not many re appeared in the market. 

The machine has the serial number 2 07 209 and dates from the 1st   year of production in 1952. 

The special thing about this machine is that it is rare. As far as I know, only around 3000 pieces were made in 2 years. It is the only machine made entirely of Bakelite.

The serial number must be read as follows: 2  07  209

2 - stands for 1952

07 - stands for the month = July

209- stands for the serial number of the production.

Mechanical condition:

Professionally restored to working order.

Smooth and ready to type for long hours. 

Will normally type. 

 platen is slightly hard. 

Cosmetic condition:

Like all our typewriters, it was genuinely restored & serviced.

It is  considerably excellent for its age. 

Minor marks on the frame. 

Original leather like carrying case. 

Replica, maybe, of the original manual.
