"Gayton Typeface" Imperial Good Companion Model T Typewriter

Presenting the Imperial Good Companion Model T, serial 2HW 552 (circa 1952), with the rare GAYTON typeface that was only found on Imperial typewriters. 

Its only our second Gayton typeface on a typewriter since we started and from experience, we know how rare it is to be found. 

The typewriter is restored with care and attention to bring historic character together with rock-solid performance. This is a superb example, professionally serviced, and fully ready for many more hours of typing.

Mechanical & Functional Highlights

• Fully restored to perfect working order — each mechanism has been cleaned, tuned, and tested for reliability and smoothness.
  

• New platen can be fitted by request, cost is £150 or $200 USD and will need 3-4 weeks to be ready. We did not change the original one is it feels ok. 
  

• New black & red ribbon installed, using the original Imperial spools — ready for use straight away.
  

• New washers and parts fitted where needed, reinforcing stability and longevity.
    

Cosmetic Condition & Accessories

• The body remains in excellent cosmetic condition, displaying its character with tasteful originality.
  

• The decals are especially well preserved, including the King George emblem.
  

• Original lid included, showing signs of age with internal and external scratches—authentic and fitting for a vintage piece.
