Olympia Elite Typewriter
We have run out of stock for this item.
This is a very good example of the Early Olympia Elite typewriter that had the original shape of the Early Olympia typewriters like Simplex and Progress.
Serial 6XXXXX from 1948.
Mechanical condition.
Professionally restored to working order.
New & fresh Black/red ribbon fitted.
Nice dinging bell and smooth action.
Tabulation mechanism is not perfect as setting and using it is slightly complicated and that was enhanced in later models of Optima and Olympia.
Cosmetic condition:
Like all our typewriters, it was genuinely restored & serviced.
Good to very good frame with minor surface marks but the original paint is not less than perfect for its age and compared to other items we worked on.
Clean round Keys.
Original carrying lid and base that are in ok to good condition. Can be easily removed from its base. BUT, the lock is damaged, so it will not lock or close fully and needs to be held from the bottom for safety and not from its handle. a hinge can be added but new owner can decide when it is in its new home.
Keyboard & Font/Typeface:
QWERTY Keyboard
PICA typeface
10 pts per the inch.
