Imperial Dual Unit Typewriter - Imperial Siamese typewriter with Scientific keybaord

IMPERIAL DUAL UNIT TYPEWRITER 141 - as per Rare Imperial Manual form Imperial Company. 

always thought it was a myth until we found it. 

Its seems to have been used in the University of Liverpool. 

This typewriter is designed for the typing of mathematical and scientific formulae. together with narrative, having 180 characters.

The machine consists

of two type units on a common base and a top plate and complete carriage which may be moved easily from one unit to the other.

type normal wording between scientific data etc., without the use of typewriters or interchanging units.

Two 45-key, 90-character keyboards.

Serial 366XXX from 1960

Will be supplied with two typewriter pads to hold it. 

it is 37KG.

The Background & Story 

Belonged to the University Of Liverpool with another similar typewriter. Sold by a local Antique store in Liverpool to us. 


Cosmetics:
Deeply cleaned to look better but it will show age signs on main frame in the form of surface rust. 
We fully Dismantle the Typewriter for a deep clean.
Due to age, paint is worn, happy to send close ups if interested. 

there are lots of scratches on the edges. No damage. 
Good Rubber Feet.

Mechanics:
Noting Stopping you from long hours of typing.

Main Spring flushed like new now. 

Ribbon:
Black  Ribbon fitted. Black/Red wont be used due to Large Symbols. 

Keyboard & Font/Typeface:
QWERTY Keyboard + Scientific and Mathematical keys.
