1909 Blickensderfer #5 Featherweight Aluminium Typewriter with original leather cases

One of our personal collection items and one of the most beautiful displays.

Serial number 134305 dates it to 1909 which was the 1st year that Blick offered any typewriters in aluminium

Was in one of the biggest typewriter collections in NJ in the united states and was passed to us in 2022.

What makes it special?

The body was cast of aluminum instead of iron then painted black. All factory original. Notice where the paint has chipped off that the aluminum frame has been left "rough" so that the paint could adhere to it. Blicks that were cast in aluminum and NOT painted black had a smooth finish.  

Only one known other example in one of the largest typewriter collections in the world by Mr Herman Price. 

Marks on the metal as well due to age. 

Please inspect all pictures as its a collectable item and sold for display only and not for typing. 

The leather cases have age marks on them. the carriage holder is nearly ripped but still attached on top. 

Will be supplied with in two parts as some pictures show and each part in the leather case dedicated to it. 

SOLD AS NON WORKING, and mainly for collection and not fully restored. please, do not expect it to type. mechanics work, but wont type nicely.
