Fully Restored Scheidegger Typomatic TMS Portable Typewriter in Light Blue | Rare OCR-B Typeface & German QWERTZ

📖 Product Overview: Mid-Century Swiss-Designed Innovation in Light Blue Presenting an extraordinarily rare piece of mid-century typographic history: the Scheidegger Typomatic TMS portable typewriter, finished in a striking original light blue hue. Distributed by the famous Scheidegger typing institute network, this model combines robust mechanical engineering with a captivating retro aesthetic.

This particular machine stands as a true collector's gem: it is equipped with the iconic OCR-B monospaced typeface, designed in 1968 by legendary Swiss typographer Adrian Frutiger for Monotype under the European Computer Manufacturers Association (ECMA) standard. Originally developed to facilitate early optical character recognition for banks and financial institutions, OCR-B is celebrated worldwide by graphic designers, typographers, and collectors for its distinctive, "back-to-the-future" aesthetic.

Meticulously overhauled at our specialized UK workshop, this machine is in good vintage condition with light marks on the frame that reflect its authentic mechanical history. It is supplied without a carrying case, but includes a complementary typewriter mat/pad. It is 100% functional and ready to write straight out of the box.
